Connect Claude
Add Contenttosocial as a custom connector in Claude, authorize your workspaces, check the connection and ask for a first preview.
Connect Claude to your Contenttosocial workspaces and run your social media from a conversation. Claude creates and edits your templates, turns your copy into posts for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and X, previews them, submits them to your clients for approval, schedules and publishes them, checks what went out and retries what failed. It can also claim your agency’s profile in the SEO agency ranking and keep it up to date. What your agent can do lists every action.
Claude connects through MCP, as a custom connector: you sign in to Contenttosocial once and choose what Claude can access. You do not write code or paste an API key.
Before you connect
- Claude: custom connectors work on every Claude plan, Free included, which allows one custom connector. Add the connector on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop. Once it is connected, it is also available in the Claude apps for iOS and Android.
- Contenttosocial: posts, templates and publishing need a workspace with an active paid plan. Without one, you can still connect: Claude then works on your agency profile only, and you can add a workspace to the connection later without reconnecting.
- Social accounts: connect the accounts you want to publish to in Social accounts, in the app. Claude cannot connect them for you.
Claude acts with your current role in each workspace: Contributors prepare drafts, while Managers, Admins and the Owner can also schedule and publish. Submitting posts to your clients needs the Freelance & Agencies plan. See Workspaces and permissions.
1. Add Contenttosocial in Claude
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector. Name it Contenttosocial, paste this server URL and click Continue:
https://contenttosocial.com/mcp
On the second step, Claude shows the settings it detected. Keep the two options it marks as detected: Sign in now under Authentication, and Register automatically under OAuth client. Do not choose Use Claude’s published identity, even though Claude recommends it: Contenttosocial does not support it. If a Request headers section appears, leave it empty: no API key is needed. Click Add, then Connect.
If your dialog shows the name, the URL and Advanced settings on a single screen, leave the advanced settings empty and click Add. Claude does not let you change these settings once the connector is added: to change them, remove the connector in Customize → Connectors and add it again.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner or Primary Owner adds the connector once for the whole organization, in Organization settings → Connectors: Add, then Custom, then Web, with the same settings. On Enterprise, a member whose custom role includes managing the organization’s libraries can do it too. Each member then finds Contenttosocial in Customize → Connectors, with the Custom label, clicks Connect and signs in with their own Contenttosocial account.
If your menus differ, follow Claude’s official guide.
2. Authorize your workspaces
Connect opens a Contenttosocial page in your browser. Sign in there, or create an account, if it asks you to. Never type your password in the conversation.
The page, titled Connect your AI agent to Contenttosocial, lists what Claude will be able to do. Select the workspaces Claude can use (your role is shown next to each one), then click Allow access. You then return to Claude.
If none of your workspaces has a paid plan, you can still click Allow access. Claude then works on your agency profile, and you add a workspace later with Manage access (account menu, then MCP), without reconnecting.
Back in Claude, turn Contenttosocial on for the conversation: click + at the bottom left of the message box, open Connectors and switch on Contenttosocial. Claude may ask for your approval before it uses a tool: read what it is about to do, and choose Allow always only for tools you are happy to let run unsupervised.
One connection can cover several workspaces: name the one you mean in your requests. Workspaces and permissions explains how Claude chooses a workspace and how to add or remove workspaces later.
3. Check that the connection works
Send this message:
Use Contenttosocial to list the workspaces you can use, then my templates and connected social accounts.
Do not create, schedule or publish anything.
Claude should name your workspaces with your role in each, then the templates and accounts it finds there. An empty list may simply mean that nothing has been added to that workspace yet. If the connection covers no paid workspace, Claude says so: that is expected. Claude should never invent names or IDs. If you get an error, see Troubleshooting.
4. Ask for a preview
Replace “Weekly tip” with the name of one of your templates:
Use my “Weekly tip” template to preview this headline:
“One small habit. A calmer workday.”
First check the template’s fields and which ones are required.
Show me the preview. Do not schedule or publish it.
Claude reads the template’s fields, fills them in and shows you the images. A preview publishes nothing, and its links expire after one hour. Each previewed slide counts toward your plan’s image allowance. Before you schedule, read Publishing with your agent.
